Villa Reniella

THE NEW VINEYARD

THE NEW VINEYARD

We planted our vines with a mix of Sangiovese and merlot grapes about 3 years ago.  We will soon be harvesting 5000 bottles of a delicious, robust, organic red wine each year – enough for Debbie!

UPPER OLIVE GROVE

UPPER OLIVE GROVE

There are over 800 olive trees at Villa Reniella. Some of the trees are 700 years old and some are wee babies. They all produce succulent olives that we press into the very best organic extra virgin olive oil.

CHICKENS

CHICKENS

Is there anything more wonderful than waking to the sound of chickens? Here we get fresh eggs every morning.

LAVENDER FIELD

LAVENDER FIELD

At Villa Reniella we produce fragrant lavender products from our field of lavender. We harvest the organic lavender at the end of the summer and transform the flowers and oils into soap, body oil and essential oil.

THE POND

THE POND

We have some interesting wildlife such as cingali (wild boar), deer and porcupine. We created a pond for them all to gather and muse over their day just like the ladies at the villa above them!

PORCILAIA SUITES

PORCILAIA SUITES

This romantic word actually translates to pigsty but we thought Porcilaia sounded more exotic. Here we have 6 suites, all different and all stunning. Each one has either it’s own private garden or a quiet sitting area.

THE ORTO

THE ORTO

An orto is a vegetable garden in Italy and ours is always abundant with seasonal veggies. Our chef is often found here picking fresh produce for our meals.

FIENILE SUITES

FIENILE SUITES

A Fienile means barn in Italian.  Here we have 3 beautiful large suites, each with its own private garden that looks over the Orto and across a valley of chestnut trees.

THE OLD VINEYARD

THE OLD VINEYARD

Here we produce a ghastly wine.  For now! The vines are old, but the local deer love the grapes!

THE APE

THE APE

An Ape is a tiny, three-wheeled vehicle that is common in rural areas of Italy. Ours is tomato red & we have great fun taking the guests up to the village in it.

THE BAR

INDIAN MASSAGE TENT

INDIAN MASSAGE TENT

Several rustic massage cabins invite us for delicious massages whilst gazing over the olive groves.

VILLA SUITES

VILLA SUITES

There are 3 beautiful suites in the main villa. Each with its own entrance and sitting area. Take a glass of chilled, white wine and sit among the pomegranate trees or enjoy the view from the ancient ’loggia’ looking up to our medieval village.

POMEGRANATE GARDEN

POMEGRANATE GARDEN

Five ancient pomegranate trees sit in the central courtyard and by fall they are bursting with juicy, red pomegranates . This garden is a tranquil place to sit and dream.

LOWER OLIVE GROVE

LOWER OLIVE GROVE

This young olive grove was planted by my sons and their cousin – the trees are already producing wonderful plump olives that we press into our organic extra virgin olive oil.

POOL

POOL

Our shimmering, glass mosaic, infinity pool is the most fabulous place to relax on a lazy, Tuscan afternoon or start the day with a few brisk laps.

THE LEMON TERRACE

THE LEMON TERRACE

Breakfast is held on our beautiful Lemon Terrace looking out over the valley. The lemon trees produce an abundance of fruit which make the most delicious lemonade and our own Limoncello.

THE FORUM

This stunning outside lounge and fire-pit lords over the valley towards the medieval town of Montepulciano. A magical place were we hold our daily ‘forums.’

BOCCE COURT

BOCCE COURT

Bocce is played in every village in Italy usually by the town’s older gentlemen.  At Villa Reniella the ladies love a good game, with a ball in one hand and usually a glass of Prosecco in the other.

YOGA

YOGA

We begin everyday during the retreats with yoga.  Whether you are a novice or an experienced yogi,  it is a wonderful way to start the day.  The view is breathtaking, the class fascinating and our teacher is hilarious!

PHILOSOPHER’S SPRING

PHILOSOPHER’S SPRING

While exploring our hundred acre property we discovered an ancient spring where the original farmers once stored their meats to keep cool during the hot Tuscan summers. Once all the brambles were removed, we had a serene spot where anyone can relax, contemplate & change the world!
